Fan MacKenzie

Fan MacKenzie is originally from California and attended the University of California, Los Angles before transferring to Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and receiving a B.Sc. in Psychology with a focus on child development.

Fan completed law school locally at the University of Ottawa when her husband was posted to Ottawa by the Canadian Armed Forces and has remained here ever since.

Fan completed her articles at the Law Offices of Audra Bennett and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013. She practiced family law at Lyon Family Law from 2013 to 2020 before opening her own firm in 2021.

Outside of her law practice, she splits her time between Nova Scotia and California because family is where the heart is.

Integrity Fan approaches her clients and the practice of law with integrity. It is not about telling the client what he or she wants to hear but providing an honest legal opinion of what is or is not reasonable. Chasing windmills or revenge is usually counter-productive to the client’s ultimate goals.

Experience Practicing exclusively in family law for the past ten (10) years has provided a wide-range of experience in complex family law issues such as imputation of income, hiding of assets, and parenting in high conflict.
